Sunday night/Monday morning (depending on your seaboard) was the point in which my first professionally recognized byline hit the internets.
The piece, Hidden Gems From the Flickr Commons, is a walk through my Wired’s personal favourites. The crux of my pitch to Wired was that we all need to get out from under the mass-consumed images of the FSA/OWI archives.
Wired’s new blog Raw File deals specifically with photography and is marshaled by a close friend Keith Axline. Keith held out a hand and gave me a finite amount of time to grab hold. I’m glad I didn’t pass up the opportunity.
There’ll be more to come in the future. And I’ll probably force it down your necks again. If you’ve seen me relentlessly plug Raw File material these past few weeks on my Twitter stream, you now know why.

Congratulations on finally getting something published on Wired… Keith actually had the story handed over to the copy desk for at least a week before it finally ran so I can only imagine how itchy you must have been feeling waiting to see it go live… Hopefully you’re feeling as proud of the achievement as you deserve…

Congrats Pete, great to see you’re getting some due exposure. You’re a mad mad blogging animal and it’s about time the big leagues are starting to call. Speaking of which, what up with Beckham, he seems kinda limp these days…

thanks man. i’ll enjoy the small glory. but you’re only as good as your last piece right? so i’ll keep pitchin’ and writin’. as for beckham. you gotta understand everyone in europe is still on their summer holidays, so he’s playing for the galaxy like its preseason training. think about it – he wants to play at the world cup 2010 … there aren’t any other professionals int eh world that would prepare for the worlds biggest tournament with virtually 26 months uninterrupted professional league play and international duty as well. no wonder he look slimp he’s taking a breather during his down time in california … otherwise he be crocked knackered and super limp before thanksgiving! beckham’s a great diplomat but as far as the galaxy are concerned, it’s an exercise to keep him fit. that’s all.
and now, prisons….
ha!
